Woo Friggen Hoo
Mar. 9th, 2005 06:23 pmWell I've had a grouchy couple of days. I got a toothache Sunday night. (I had a blast with Buzzy Sunday... thanks Buzzy!) Annoying toothache presisted but I had hoped to wait until my day off to get it seen to. I thought I would make it until last night when in the space of 10 minutes my cheek swelled to the size of a golfball. So after swearing a bit, I realized I had to go see a dentist.
Woke up the next morning with my cheek the size of a softball. I called out of work and then headed over to the dentist. When he came in the exam room to see me, I was greeted with "Hi so you're the one with the swolen... Woah!" I never take open astonishment from a dentist as a good thing.
He gave me two choices; to stay on antbiotics for a few days and com back to pull the tooth or to pull it right then and take antbiotics afterwards. He warned me that pulling it right away would hurt more but if I waited he couldn't guarentee if the antibiotics would work completly. I opted to pull the tooth and get it over with.
By the way, after you are shot up with novacaine and your dentist asks you if your lip is totally numb, pinching your lip as hard as you can and saying "Wow cool" is not quite the answer he's looking for.
Anyway, I'm glad to have the tooth out. I got a prescription for codine so I figured it was best not to try to go to work for a partial shift. My fiancee took good care of me. He knew exactaly when I need him and exactaly when I wanted him to leave me alone so I could be a grouch.
