(no subject)

I've just finished watching the Nicholas Cage movie Matchstick Men. I've been wanting to see it for a while becuase I had heard that Cage's character had tourettes syndrome. Now I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned it here on my lj but I have mild to moderate tourrets (my tics tend to wax and wane). I was curious to see how he Cage played the character. Too often when an actor plays a character with tourettes, they tend to come off as horribly clownish and comical with no respect to the disorder.( Read more... )

On an unrelated topic, it's been a stressful last couple of days. A friend I've had since childhood was in a very severe accident along with her 2 year old daughter and a couple other people. I think I will save posting details until tomorrow. I've never been very good about sharing bad and painful news. I tend to want to keep the bad stuff to myself. Will see if I cn talk about it later. Right now I'm tired and so I bid you all goodnight.
